If you're ever scrolling through Instagram and are suddenly bombarded by images of bright, colorful plates of some of the most mouthwatering food in Austin, chances are you are on Shelby Sorrel's page. The Austin-based Social Media Strategist and Influencer has developed her brand around Austin's diverse culinary scene. Her passion extends beyond just being another Austin "foody", as she shares anything and everything eye-catching she comes across, such as Austin's murals or beautiful interiors.
Austin's Couch Potatoes recently partnered with Shelby, and let her revamp her living room to match her vibrant lifestyle. Shelby decided on the Wallace sofa, and a blush pink velvet chair. Decorated with Shelby's own expressive pillows, and pops of bright colors here and there, Shelby has let her passion for all things fun and flamboyant flow through her design choices.
We were able to ask Shelby a few questions about herself and her design style, while hanging out and showing her around our Austin Couch Potatoes' warehouse.
Q: How would you describe your design style?
A: Simple, yet colorful and modern, yet classic.
Q: What drew you to Austin's Couch Potatoes?
A: I love that it is local to Austin, they have a wide selection to choose from a variety of pieces, and I loved that I could pick the couch I loved and then the fabric--it gave me time to fully decide on exactly what my dream couch looked like.
Q: What do you love most about your furniture pieces?
A: They compliment each other so well and are SO comfortable. Everyone who has entered my home loves them, and always raves about how cute they are while maintaining a high comfort level.
