Warranties on Furniture: Why Are They Important?

Warranties on Furniture: Why Are They Important?

When you are looking for furniture, it is important to make sure that you are getting a quality piece. One way to ensure this is by looking for furniture with a warranty or lifetime guarantee.

A warranty guarantees that the furniture will be replaced or repaired if there is any damage done to it during the time of ownership. A lifetime guarantee means that the furniture will be replaced or repaired free of charge for as long as you own it. This is an important thing to look for when making your furniture purchase because it ensures that you will have peace of mind knowing that your furniture is protected.

Why A Warranty Is So Important

Imagine you bought this Leather Ladybird sofa, but while it's being delivered, its beautiful, smooth Hudson Lager Leather gets scratched on the doorway. The furniture store might not do anything about it if you don't have a warranty.

So, that's disappointing.

Furniture is an investment for your home. You want it to last a long time, which is why a warranty or lifetime guarantee is important. It protects you in case anything happens to your furniture and ensures that you will be able to get it replaced or repaired if necessary.

When you are furniture shopping, be sure to ask the sales professional about the warranty or lifetime guarantee so that you can be confident in your purchase. Furniture with a warranty or lifetime guarantee is a wise investment that will give you peace of mind and protection for your furniture.

Couch Potatoes' Warranties

At Couch Potatoes, we believe in quality furniture and stand behind our products. That's why we offer warranties or a lifetime guarantee on all of our furniture. We want you to be confident in your purchase and know that your furniture is protected.

  • Our lifetime guarantee is offered on the frames and springs in our furniture. This means that if there is any damage done to the furniture during the time of ownership, we will replace or repair it free of charge. This guarantee is for as long as you own the furniture.
  • We also offer a one-year warranty on our fabric and leather upholstery. This means that if there is any damage done to the upholstery during the first year of ownership, we will replace or repair it free of charge.
  • Then, there is a 3-year warranty on the foam in our cushions. If they start to sag in those first 3 years, or the family's new puppy decided to have a little cushion-flavored snack, we will replace or repair the foam.

Why Can't Everything Be a Lifetime Guarantee?

Unfortunately, not everything can be a lifetime guarantee. Some materials and fabrics will degrade over time with regular wear and tear. But at Couch Potatoes, we use high-quality materials (like kiln-dried hardwood and 1.8 density foam) in our furniture so that it will last for many years.

What's Normally Not Covered In Warranties?

Most furniture warranties or lifetime guarantees do not cover damage from normal wear and tear. They also don't cover damage that is caused by accidents, pets, or misuse of the furniture. So, if you spill a glass of wine on your sofa or your cat scratches up the arm of your chair, it's likely that those damages will not be covered under the warranty. We do have several pet-friendly fabrics that are stain, water, and scratch-resistant. This doesn't mean they're indestructible, but it helps considerably when you have a high-traffic household either with a ton of kids, pets, or both!

It's important to read the fine print of any furniture warranty or lifetime guarantee so that you know what is and is not covered. That way, you can be sure to take care of your furniture and avoid any damages that would void the warranty.
